How does contraceptive use differ among married couples in Pakistan?

Answer

Direct answer

In the 2017–18 Pakistan DHS, 34% of currently married women used any contraceptive method: 25% used a modern method and 9% a traditional method. Modern-method use was about 29% in urban areas and 23% in rural areas, and rose from roughly 17% in the poorest wealth group to 30% in the richest. These figures measure women aged 15–49 at the survey date, not all couples, and they do not show whether both spouses agreed with the decision.
