Pakistan’s 2023 Census counted 499,017 divorced people among 142,924,350 residents aged 15 or older, equal to 0.35%. It also counted 210,895 separated people, or 0.15%; the report notes that separation was newly identified in 2023 and included within the married category for headline classification. This 0.35% is the share of the population currently recorded as divorced, not an annual divorce rate and not the percentage of marriages that eventually end. Remarried people are classified by their current status.
