How soon after marriage do couples in Pakistan typically have their first child?

Direct answer
The 2017–18 Pakistan DHS reported a median age at first marriage of 20.4 years and a median age at first birth of 22.8 years among women aged 25–49. The 2.4-year difference between those medians suggests that first births often follow marriage relatively soon, but it is not the measured waiting time for each couple and should not be reported as one. The survey also found that 64% of women aged 25–49 had given birth by age 25, with substantial variation by education, wealth and residence.
