How do wedding customs differ between urban and rural Pakistan?

Urban weddings may have easier access to banquet halls, professional vendors, digital invitations and tightly scheduled events, while rural celebrations may use homes, shared outdoor space and broader community participation. Those are tendencies, not two fixed traditions: wealthy rural families may stage elaborate events, and urban couples may choose a simple nikah. Pakistan has no representative survey counting customs by residence. Available qualitative research documents variation in venues, commercialization and ritual form, but household income, region, migration and family history often matter as much as an urban label.
