Invitations & Wedding Media

How should a wedding invitation be corrected after a name or date is printed incorrectly?

Answer

Direct answer

Issue a clear correction identifying the changed detail, and replace or withdraw the mistaken version where possible.

Check the replacement against the confirmed record before sending it, then notify suppliers or transport contacts if their plans are affected. For a person's name, apologise privately and use their preferred spelling rather than making the mistake a public joke. Ask important contacts to acknowledge a date change. One corrected file is not enough if guests still rely on printed cards or previously forwarded invitations.
