How should a buyer compare two jewellery quotations using the same gold rate?

Direct answer
Compare net metal weight, purity and all additional charges on the same basis before deciding which quotation is cheaper.
Two sellers using the same headline gold rate may include different stone values, making charges, wastage allowances or taxes. Ask for a written breakdown and confirm that the rate applies to the quoted purity and unit. Compare exchange and delivery terms separately. A lower rate or lower total is not a like-for-like saving if the item contains less gold or different components.
