What is the difference between a gharara and a sharara for a wedding outfit?

Answer

Direct answer

A gharara usually has a fitted upper leg and a pronounced knee join; a sharara widens more continuously from higher up.

Both are trousers rather than one undivided skirt. Modern sellers sometimes use the names loosely, so ask for a full-length photograph and check the actual knee construction, width and hem. Try sitting and walking before choosing: the garment's cut and fit matter more than its label. Neither name dictates a compulsory wedding ceremony or level of formality.
