How does Pakistan count women’s work in official labour statistics?

The Labour Force Survey measures labour-force participation, employment, unemployment, hours, occupation, industry, employment status, and related demographic characteristics, including sex, age, education, location, and marital status. It distinguishes being outside the labour force from being unemployed, which requires availability and active job search under the survey definition. The survey captures paid and certain unpaid economic activities, but measurement can still miss or understate informal, home-based, seasonal, and unpaid care work.
