Does online matrimonial search replace family consultation?
Last reviewed:
Direct answer
No. Online search can widen discovery and let individuals review information before involving relatives, but it can also give parents or siblings a formal role from the beginning. Families may enter at profile creation, screening, contact exchange, verification, or meeting stages. A self-managed profile can still involve extensive offline consultation, while a family-managed profile can still involve the person represented. The platform changes how participation is organized; it does not prove that family consultation disappears.
