How can a bride compare a stitched gown with a layered peshwas for the same event?

Direct answer
Compare the actual construction: a fitted gown and a layered peshwas may distribute volume, fastenings and movement differently.
Retail names are not reliable specifications. Ask where each garment is fitted, how its layers attach and whether the sleeves, waist or length can be altered later. Try the same sitting and walking movements in both, using the intended shoes. Include lining and adjustment costs in the comparison. The better choice is the garment that meets the wearer's requirements, not whichever title sounds more formal.
