What documents are usually needed when a Pakistani marries a foreign national?

Answer

Direct answer

Requirements depend on where the marriage occurs and the foreign spouse’s nationality. For Pakistani attestation, the Foreign Ministry requires the Nikahnama and marriage registration certificate, plus the foreign spouse’s passport, Pakistani visa and entry date for a marriage performed in Pakistan. Local registration may also require CNIC or NICOP copies, photographs, age or marital-status evidence and witnesses. The foreign country may demand additional civil-status or capacity-to-marry documents. Its embassy and official civil-registration authority should be checked before the ceremony, not after tickets are booked.
