How does wedding expenditure vary by household income in Pakistan?

There is no nationally representative Pakistani table that links complete wedding bills to household income bands. Available research shows that marriage payments and celebration costs are shaped by wealth, kinship expectations, region and bargaining between families, but individual studies usually cover a limited setting such as rural Punjab. Absolute spending can rise with resources, while the burden can be heavier for lower-income households when costs consume savings or income. A reliable national comparison would need event-level expenditure, household income and financing data collected in the same survey.
