How should families close a wedding hotel or transport booking after the last guest leaves?

Direct answer

Reconcile the confirmed services, final invoices, deposits and outstanding items with the providers before closing the booking.

Check unused rooms, extra journeys, returned keys and any agreed deductions, and obtain an itemised explanation for disputed charges. Keep the person authorised to settle accounts clear so several relatives do not pay the same balance. Remove unnecessary guest-data copies after their purpose ends. The last departure is a useful checkpoint, but it does not automatically mean every financial or property handover is complete.
