How wedding car rental is priced

Most companies rent wedding cars for a set number of hours or a full day, usually with a driver. Extra hours, long distances and travel outside the city cost more. Some cars are offered self drive, which is cheaper but adds responsibility for the family.

Car rental companies on Weddme publish 121 priced cars and hire options. Half of them start between PKR 7,000 and PKR 35,000, usually for a day or a set number of hours, and the middle price is about PKR 15,000. Luxury and vintage cars cost much more than everyday family cars.

What usually affects the price

  • The car model and year: newer luxury cars cost more.
  • Hours: a half day costs less than a full day.
  • Driver: most wedding cars come with a driver, sometimes in uniform.
  • Fuel: some prices include fuel within the city, others do not.
  • Distance: travel to another city or a far farmhouse adds cost.
  • Decoration: flower decoration is often charged separately.
  • Season: wedding season weekends book up and may cost more.

Wedding car decoration

Car decoration is a big part of the rukhsati moment. Common choices include fresh rose and tuberose decoration on the bonnet and doors, ribbons, a floral heart or initials, and light strings for night events. Fresh flowers look best but can wilt in heat, so ask the decorator to finish just before the event. Make sure decoration does not block the driver's view or damage the paint.

Choosing the right car

Think about the bride's outfit and the elders. A heavy lehenga and dupatta need a car with wide doors and a roomy back seat. Very low sports cars look great but can be hard to get into in bridal wear. If the drive is long, comfort and air conditioning matter more than style. Ask to sit inside the car before booking if you can.

How many cars do you need?

  • One car for the groom's arrival at the barat
  • One decorated car for the rukhsati
  • Cars for the parents and elders
  • Vans or extra cars to move family between venues

Some companies offer packages for several cars together, which can cost less than booking each one separately.

Plan the timings

Share the full day's plan with the car company: pickup times, the venues and the expected rukhsati time. Weddings often run late, so ask how overtime is charged. Plan a little extra time for traffic, especially in big cities on wedding season evenings.

Questions to ask

  • Which exact car will come, and can you send photos of it?
  • Is a driver included, and will they wear a uniform?
  • Is fuel included, and for how many kilometres?
  • How many hours are included, and what is the overtime charge?
  • Is decoration included, or arranged separately?
  • What happens if the car breaks down on the day?

The groom's arrival

The groom's car is part of the barat procession, often with dhol, music and family walking alongside. Plan where the car will stop near the venue, how long the procession will take, and whether the road allows it. Some families choose a vintage car or a decorated horse carriage for the arrival, so check with the venue about space and permissions. Share the plan with the driver so he knows when to move slowly and when to stop.

Photos with the car

Wedding photographers love the car for couple photos, especially at the rukhsati. Ask the photographer to plan a few minutes with the car before the bride leaves, while the decoration is still fresh. Make sure the car is parked in a spot with some light and space, not squeezed between other cars. A clean, well decorated car in good light makes some of the best photos of the whole wedding.

Common mistakes

  • Booking a car that is too low for the bride to sit in easily
  • Not checking whether decoration is included
  • Forgetting to plan for overtime when events run late
  • Not sharing the venue address and map pin with the driver
  • Leaving car booking to the last week of wedding season

Book early in wedding season

Luxury and vintage cars are limited, and the best ones are booked weeks or months ahead for winter weekends. Once your dates are fixed, start comparing companies and lock in the car for the rukhsati first, since it matters most.

Cars for elders and guests

Elders often need the most comfortable cars, with easy entry and good air conditioning. Plan their pickup and drop off first, before the younger family members. If guests are travelling from other cities, a van or minibus between the hotel and the venue saves them stress and keeps everyone on time. Ask the rental company about group transport packages for the wedding weekend.

Self drive cars for family

For moving family between events, some families rent self drive cars and ask a trusted relative to drive. This costs less, but the family becomes responsible for the car. Check it carefully at pickup, note the fuel level, and keep the rental papers inside.
