What can change the price of two diamonds with the same carat weight?

Direct answer
Diamonds of the same carat weight can differ in price because colour, clarity, cut, origin category and other characteristics also matter.
Compare written grading information rather than assuming equal weight means equal quality. Check whether each stone is natural or laboratory-grown, what treatments are disclosed and which laboratory issued the report. The setting and retail terms can add further differences. A grading report helps explain characteristics; it does not fix a universal selling price or guarantee what another buyer will later pay.
