When is a sample toile useful before cutting expensive wedding fabric?

Answer

Direct answer

A sample toile is useful when the cut or fit needs testing before expensive or irreplaceable fabric is cut.

It is a trial garment, commonly made from less costly material, that helps the maker check shape and movement. Agree which details it will represent and which still need a final-fabric trial. Mark approved changes clearly before production begins. A toile can reduce uncertainty, but a stiff sample cannot perfectly predict a very different fabric's drape or the effect of heavy decoration.
