How should a wedding outfit be measured when specialist underlayers will be worn?
Last reviewed:
Direct answer
Take measurements and attend key fittings wearing the underlayers intended for the finished outfit.
Support garments, slips and other layers can change how a bodice, waistband or lining sits. Tell the tailor if an underlayer is still undecided and ask when the choice must be finalised. Use the same arrangement when checking the corrected garment, rather than comparing fittings made under different conditions. The goal is a consistent measurement basis, not pressure to wear a particular type of undergarment.
