How can measurements be communicated safely when ordering wedding clothes from abroad?

Direct answer
Use the maker's measurement method, units and labelled diagrams, then confirm unclear readings before production.
Ask whether each figure describes the body or a finished garment and whether movement allowance is added by the tailor. Have a trusted helper take difficult measurements without sharing unnecessary revealing photographs. Record the date, intended underlayers and final approved figures. A familiar size label from another brand is not a substitute for the measurements required by a particular pattern.
