How can a bridal outfit be redesigned for later use without destroying its structure?

Direct answer
Plan redesign around removable components and the garment's structure before cutting away fabric or decoration.
A tailor can assess whether a border, dupatta or separate layer can be reused while preserving the main outfit. Photograph the original and decide which sentimental features must remain intact. Check that the proposed change leaves adequate seam support and a workable lining. For a fragile heirloom, preservation may be preferable to remaking. A reversible styling change is less risky than an irreversible alteration made only to follow a trend.
