When is it appropriate to share personal documents during a rishta process?

Direct answer
Documents should be shared only when the proposal is serious, the recipient’s identity has been checked and the document answers a specific question that cannot be verified more safely. The sequence should move from verbal information, to independent confirmation, to limited document viewing, with copies supplied only when genuinely needed. Sensitive numbers can be masked and copies purpose-marked. NADRA and privacy frameworks both support data minimization and consent. Passports, CNICs, bank records and medical reports should never become routine proof demanded at first contact.
