How are Pakistani wedding traditions changing among younger generations?

Answer

Direct answer

Qualitative studies suggest younger Pakistanis often remix rather than simply abandon wedding traditions. Changes include digital invitations, coordinated themes, staged photography, choreographed dances, smaller guest lists in some households and greater couple involvement in event design. The same generation may retain mehndi, rukhsati, walima and regional customs because they carry family meaning. Existing Pakistani studies are small and urban, so they cannot establish a national generational percentage. Cost, migration, education, social media and negotiation with elders help determine which practices change.
