Wedding Venues & Production

What should a wedding décor brief specify beyond a reference photograph?

Answer

Direct answer

Specify the size, materials, colours, quantities and included work, not only a photograph of another wedding.

Record the venue layout, setup access, lighting assumptions and what may be substituted. Ask which items are rented and who handles installation, removal and damage. A reference image may contain a different ceiling height, floor area or budget, so confirm what the supplier is actually promising. Keep the approved brief with the quotation and have the venue review safety or access implications before production.
