What records should be kept when a wedding purchase is paid in instalments?

Direct answer
Keep the total price, instalment dates, amounts paid, remaining balance and any fees or delivery conditions in one written record.
Check who provides the credit and what happens after a missed payment, cancellation or returned item. Obtain receipts that identify the order, not only a transfer screenshot. Compare the full payable amount with the cash price before committing. Instalments spread payments; they do not remove the cost, guarantee affordability or settle every dispute with the seller.
