What does a plating-thickness claim mean for imitation bridal jewellery?

Answer

Direct answer

A plating-thickness claim describes the coating, but it cannot by itself guarantee how long a bridal piece will keep its finish.

Ask what metal is plated, how thickness was measured and which care or warranty conditions apply. Friction, chemicals, use and the underlying material can affect wear. Compare written specifications instead of assuming words such as premium or permanent have a standard meaning. Keep coating durability separate from claims about gemstone identity, skin suitability and the value of the base metal.
