Wedding Catering

What should be asked when a wedding caterer claims food is halal?

Answer

Direct answer

Ask what the halal claim covers, who issued any certification and how the ingredients and supplier records support it.

Check that a certificate refers to the relevant business, product or service and remains applicable, rather than assuming a displayed logo covers the whole menu. Discuss meat sources and other ingredients the guests need clarified. Confirm claims through the issuing authority where necessary. A halal description addresses religious suitability; it does not replace hygiene, allergen management or safe food handling.
