How should a heavily embellished outfit be stored between wedding events?

Answer

Direct answer

Support a heavily embellished outfit between events instead of hanging all its weight from weak shoulders or narrow straps.

Ask the maker whether flat storage or another supported arrangement is appropriate. Keep it dry, protected from dust and separated from jewellery, food and makeup. Avoid tight folds over decoration and check for loose work before wearing it again. Short-term convenience should not override the condition of the fabric; a garment that looks substantial may still have fragile seams beneath its embellishment.
