Is a saved partner-age range the same as an actual spouse-age gap?

Saved preferences are search parameters recorded before any confirmed marriage outcome. They describe a set of ages a profile allowed during discovery, while a spouse-age gap requires the ages of two people who actually married. The platform data does not show which age inside a range attracted attention, whether criteria changed offline, or whether a marriage occurred. Converting a midpoint gap into a spouse gap would therefore replace an observed setting with an outcome the study never measured.
