What do profile views, messages and contact exchanges actually measure?

Direct answer

Every metric needs its unit, denominator, eligibility rules, observation window, and event definition. A profile view is not a person, a message is not a mutual conversation, contact exchange is not an offline meeting, and activity is not a marriage. Platform users are also self-selected rather than nationally representative. Missing outcomes matter because a service may not observe what happens after people leave the platform. Without these boundaries, ordinary product events can be misrepresented as relationship progress or social trends.
