What health tests are commonly recommended before marriage?

There is no one-size-fits-all premarital test list in these sources. Start with a confidential consultation about both partners’ medical and family histories, then let a qualified clinician recommend appropriate tests. Thalassemia carrier screening can be relevant where family history or ancestry indicates risk.

A normal test result is not a guarantee of future fertility or general health. WHO states that virginity testing has no scientific or clinical justification and should not be performed. Do not demand invasive examinations or public disclosure as proof of suitability for marriage.
