Does a large income difference between spouses affect marriage?

An income gap does not determine relationship quality by itself. Problems are more likely when money becomes control: one partner hides income, sets all spending rules, blocks work or treats earning as proof of greater authority. Financial strain is associated with poorer relationship functioning, but a high-income household can still have unfair decisions and a modest-income household can cooperate well. More useful questions concern debt, dependants, savings, account access, expected lifestyle and whether both partners retain a voice when earnings change after migration, illness or parenthood.
