How is Pakistan’s population divided among its provinces and Islamabad?

Direct answer
The 2023 Census recorded about 127.69 million people in Punjab, 55.70 million in Sindh, 40.86 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 14.89 million in Balochistan, and 2.36 million in Islamabad Capital Territory. Punjab therefore contained more than half of the national population, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These official counts are useful baselines when assessing whether a platform cohort over- or under-represents particular places.
