How should outside food, cake cutting and beverage corkage be agreed with a wedding venue?
Last reviewed:
Direct answer
Agree in writing whether outside food or drinks are permitted and which handling, cutting, serving or related charges apply.
Identify who receives the items, checks storage needs and supplies utensils or staff. Clarify whether corkage is merely the venue's name for an outside-beverage fee and what it includes. Record liability and food-safety responsibilities rather than assuming the venue accepts everything delivered. A cake supplier's promise cannot substitute for the hall's actual permission and service arrangements.
