How many Pakistanis have registered for overseas employment?

More than 10 million Pakistani workers have been registered for overseas employment since the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment began recording these movements in 1971. The highest annual flow was 946,571 registrations in 2015. The bureau also breaks registrations down by year, destination, province, occupation, and other administrative categories. These figures count formal labour-migration movements, not the full overseas Pakistani population, unique people currently abroad, or evidence about marriage preferences and spouse-search behavior.
