How is Pakistan’s young-adult population changing?

Pakistan still has a very large young-adult population. Census 2023 counted about 62.6 million people aged 15–29, roughly one-quarter of the population. The total population rose from about 207.7 million in Census 2017 to 241.5 million in 2023, so the absolute number entering education, work and marriage ages remains substantial. That does not mean every young-age share is growing; a proper age-structure trend compares proportions in identical bands. Matrimonial demand also cannot be inferred without marital status, gender, location and participation data.
