Why can’t contact visibility be read as user motive?

Direct answer
A contact-visibility setting describes what the platform stored, not the full reason behind it. Some members may prefer gradual disclosure, some may follow family advice, and some may simply keep the default setting. Weddme’s trust report notes that private contact visibility is currently applied during signup, so the 88.97% private-contact figure partly reflects product design. It is safer to call it a stored platform-setting pattern, not proof of fear, caution, seriousness or trust.
