Is preferred partner age the same as age at first marriage?
Last reviewed:
Direct answer
Age at first marriage is an observed demographic event: the respondent’s age when the first marriage occurred. Preferred partner age on Weddme is a saved search parameter recorded before any known outcome and may cover several acceptable bands. One measures marriage timing in a survey population; the other measures filter configuration in a platform cohort. They have different units, denominators, and meanings, so a saved midpoint cannot be interpreted as a future spouse gap or national marriage-age trend.
