Why are matrimonial platforms different from dating apps?

Matrimonial platforms are designed around an explicit search for marriage, so profiles often include family, religion, education, residence and marriage expectations that would be unusual on a general dating app. Family-managed accounts and staged family involvement may also be supported. The distinction is about product purpose, not guaranteed behavior: people can misrepresent intentions on either type of service, and a matrimonial label does not verify identity or consent. Safety still depends on privacy controls, moderation, reciprocal communication and independent checks before moving offline.
